What happened: sanction letters for 4,190 women under Delhi Lakshmi Yojana
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta distributed sanction letters to 4,190 eligible women under the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana at TalKatora Stadium. The scheme states that beneficiaries will receive ₹2,500 per month through direct benefit transfer starting September 1, after completion of stated eligibility and verification steps.
The reported event included attendance by the Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi and the Delhi BJP president.
Scheme design: monthly support with digital-wallet cash and deposit-based savings
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana as support for financial security, confidence, and decision-making power for women. The scheme release describes the ₹2,500 monthly benefit as split into two parts:
₹1,000 is credited to beneficiaries’ digital wallets for immediate expenses.The remaining amount is placed in fixed deposit or recurring deposit accounts.
