The Uttar Pradesh police told the Supreme Court that former Union Minister Ajay Mishra and his son Ashish Mishra were not involved in a separate case of alleged witness intimidation linked to the 2021 Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The court was also informed that the trial proceedings are likely to be completed within the next three months.
The hearing on Ashish Mishra’s bail plea was adjourned after the bench noted progress in the trial and asked for a fresh status report. The matter has been listed for hearing next month.
