What happened
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a breakfast meeting with 37 newly elected Rajya Sabha MPs of the NDA. Modi cautioned the newly elected MPs against falling prey to alleged “intrigues in Delhi” and urged the newly elected MPs to learn from experienced parliamentarians, including members from the Opposition.
Modi advised the newly elected MPs to be mindful about whom they meet and where they meet, and he described Delhi as a “dangerous place.”
Modi also gave conduct-related guidance for MPs’ communication and official identity. Modi advised MPs to guard against misuse of their letterhead (official stationery used to represent an MP). Modi advised MPs to avoid rudeness during phone calls.
Modi responded to questions about personal routine. Modi said he falls asleep within minutes of getting into bed and sleeps for about three hours. Modi also emphasised living in the moment for optimum results.
The breakfast meeting attendees included BJP president Nitin Nabin and other listed political figures.
