What happened: Rise Premier League (RPL) inaugurated in Bilaspur
Girl Rising India Foundation inaugurated the Rise Premier League (RPL) in Bilaspur under Girl Rising’s RISE curriculum. RPL is described as India’s first organised mixed-gender cricket league for government school students and aims to promote gender equality through a combination of cricket participation and structured life-skills learning.
RPL is being run in Bilha Block. The programme links classroom learning to a structured cricket competition among students.
Programme design and student coverage
RPL integrates classroom learning with a cricket league format. The programme structure and coverage are reported as follows:
RPL includes 30 interactive sessions covering social-emotional learning, leadership, gender equality, digital and AI skills, financial literacy, and climate awareness.These sessions are integrated into classroom learning for more than 3,800 students.The programme covers students across 12 government schools.Four mixed-gender teams compete across the league stage before a final.
