Former Union Law Minister Ashwani Kumar said the controversy around the OTT film “Satluj,” reportedly pulled down shortly after release on security concerns, has revived painful memories of Punjab’s militancy era. He placed the issue at the intersection of public order, historical memory, and freedom of expression.
Kumar said concerns that the film could inflame passions cannot be ignored. He also cautioned that removing the film may backfire by drawing more people to seek it out.
