AAP raises concern over attacks on Christians
AAP national spokesperson and MP Sanjay Singh wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over alleged attacks on Christians and called for independent probes and action against misuse of anti-conversion laws.

What happened
AAP national spokesperson and Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing alarm over reported attacks on churches, Christian institutions, and members of the Christian community across India. Singh asked the Prime Minister to publicly condemn the incidents and ensure time-bound independent probes in all reported cases.
Singh also called for action against the alleged misuse of anti-conversion laws to harass pastors, worshippers, and other Christians. The letter presents the matter as a civil rights and communal harmony concern.
UPSC can frame the issue around the constitutional protection of religious freedom, the state’s responsibility to maintain public order, and the tension between anti-conversion legislation and civil liberties. A good answer should distinguish lawful regulation of conversions from arbitrary harassment and discuss institutional remedies such as impartial investigation and accountability.
