What happened (Qazigund, Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)

Landslides near Qazigund led to the closure of the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway, and truck traffic was halted at Qazigund.

Background and earlier position (why the corridor is sensitive)

Hilly highway corridors in Jammu and Kashmir face heightened landslide risk during periods of heavy rain or unstable slopes. When a major highway is blocked, access for movement of people, freight, and emergency response is affected until clearance and safe passage are ensured.

What changed now (road movement to closure and truck halt)

After landslides, the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway shifted from functioning as a passable road corridor to a closed stretch where truck movement was halted at Qazigund.
