What happened
Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will convene a meeting in New Delhi of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members from Karnataka on Monday. The meeting will be held at Karnataka Bhavan.
The meeting will discuss pending proposals from Karnataka to the Centre and will seek bipartisan support for obtaining central assistance during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament. Shivakumar said the discussion will focus on issues related to Karnataka’s development and that Karnataka MPs should collectively pursue these issues in Parliament. All MPs from Karnataka have been invited.
UPSC may frame the meeting as Karnataka’s effort to coordinate its Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs during a live parliamentary session, aiming to secure cross-party backing for central assistance tied to Karnataka’s development priorities.
