What happened: Bihar bandh arrests and Tejashwi Yadav’s 24-hour release demand

Tejashwi Yadav, Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, criticized Bihar Police for arresting hundreds of people during a statewide bandh held on Saturday. Tejashwi Yadav demanded the release of detained students, opposition MLAs, other protesters, and Tej Pratap Yadav.

Tejashwi Yadav warned that opposition protests would intensify if detained protesters from the Bihar bandh were not released within 24 hours.

Tejashwi Yadav alleged police firing during clashes in Siwan and referenced firing in Jehanabad, and Tejashwi Yadav visited hospitals where injured protesters were reportedly receiving treatment.
