What happened: Mohan Yadav’s district directive on Ken–Betwa affected families

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav directed district officials in Panna and Chhatarpur to personally visit villages affected by the Ken–Betwa river link project. Mohan Yadav asked officials to meet impacted households and understand their grievances directly. The directive followed a review meeting held in Khajuraho.

Mohan Yadav also set expectations for displacement rehabilitation. Mohan Yadav asked officials to ensure prompt welfare benefits reach eligible displaced families. For families already relocated, Mohan Yadav asked officials to prepare concrete plans to provide essential services, including schools, anganwadis, health facilities, and community halls.

The directive comes after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met protesters earlier in the year and expressed stated support for affected villagers, with a planned visit after meeting protesters.
