What happened
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reported foreign exchange generation through three external financing instruments under the RBI swap facility: FCNR(B) deposits (Foreign Currency Non-Resident Bank deposits), OFCBs (Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings), and ECBs (External Commercial Borrowings). As of August 21, 2026, the RBI stated total foreign exchange generation of $72.85 billion.
RBI reported the inflow breakdown from authorised dealer banks as follows:
