Revathy and Padmapriya resign from AMMA, citing patriarchy and power politics after Hema Committee discourse

Malayalam film actors Revathy and Padmapriya have resigned from the primary membership of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA). They said their decision was not sudden and was not tied to a single incident.

In their joint statement, they argued that the association’s long-standing promise—centering on safer workplaces, dignity, accountability, and equal treatment—has not been fulfilled. They described a pattern where those raising concerns face silence and distance.
