The Ram Temple trust has deferred the appointment of its first chief executive officer by one month after receiving an unusually large number of applications, reportedly around 5,200. The postponement matters because it shows that the trust is moving toward a more formal administrative structure, but the selection process is still unfinished.

What happened

The trust had planned to choose its first CEO, but officials said the process will take more time because of the high volume of applications. The trust has not yet finalised the post.
