What happened

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has said that it found no evidence indicating the involvement of Sanjeev Kumar, also known as Sanjeev Mukhiya, in the NEET-UG 2024 case. The CBI said the NEET-UG investigation still covered the theft and circulation of the question paper and the identification of beneficiaries.

Background and earlier position

According to the CBI, the Bihar police first detected paper theft in 2024 and registered a case. Early suspicion had pointed to Mukhiya because of his alleged connection with other examination paper-theft or leak cases. Bihar police then named him as an accused, and the case was later transferred to the CBI for further investigation.
