Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested three publishers after alleging that books with pro-separatist content were published and circulated through schools under the Samagra Shiksha scheme. The case connects internal security concerns with education governance because the alleged material reached school-linked channels.

Police identified the accused as Inderpal of Jammu and Amardeep Singh and Girish Arora from Delhi. Police said a case has been registered under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The books cited were Personalities and Legends of J&K and Great Personalities of Jammu and Kashmir. The first book reportedly included profiles of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Masarat Alam and Maqbool Bhat.
