What happened

Russia carried out missile and drone attacks on Ukraine on Saturday, killing 8 people and injuring 19, according to officials. Twelve people were wounded in Kyiv when the attack struck before an air-raid alert was issued.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said most targets were shot down, but ballistic missiles could not be intercepted in all cases. Ukraine’s air force reported downing at least some cruise missiles and the vast majority of drones.

Ukraine’s drone forces chief said Ukrainian drones struck fuel tanker vessels in the Sea of Azov overnight, along with other cargo and support ships. The weekly total of maritime hits rose higher than before.
