What happened
Gaza’s civil defence agency and a hospital said an Israeli strike hit near a market and killed 8 persons, while 22 others were wounded. The Gaza authorities said some of the deaths occurred during a funeral procession.
The Israeli military said it struck what it described as a terrorist cell. The competing claims show the continuing information gap around battlefield reporting in Gaza.
