What happened in the Lok Sabha privilege notice
BJP MP Anurag Thakur filed a notice of breach of privilege and contempt against Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. Thakur submitted the notice to Speaker Om Birla.
Thakur’s notice alleges the following conduct and omissions:
- Rahul Gandhi allegedly used unparliamentary and derogatory language in the Lok Sabha.
- Rahul Gandhi allegedly made “grave but unsubstantiated allegations” against Home Minister Amit Shah.
- Thakur alleged that Rahul Gandhi violated Rule 352 of the Lok Sabha Rules of Procedure.
