Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched an AI-powered Dust Portal 2.0 to monitor construction and demolition sites of 500 square yards or more. The initiative is part of a broader approach to air-pollution control that combines regulation with modern administrative systems.

The Chief Minister said anti-pollution efforts should not rely solely on stricter regulations. She argued that monitoring and management systems must also be updated so that dust pollution at construction sites can be tracked more effectively.

For UPSC preparation, the launch matters mainly as an example of urban environmental governance, digital monitoring, and the challenge of enforcing pollution norms at construction sites, which are a recurring source of particulate pollution in cities.
