The Supreme Court has temporarily halted an order from the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) that annulled a CAG audit directive for Delhi's electricity distribution companies.
This status quo decision also suspends the original DERC directive for a CAG audit.
The issue traces back to a 2025 Supreme Court ruling that criticized the ineffective operation of electricity regulatory commissions.
