What happened: Ukrainian strike claims in Russia’s Samara region

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Ukrainian forces carried out a large-scale strike on industrial infrastructure in Russia’s southwestern Samara region.

Russia’s Samara regional official said Russia’s air defences repelled a “massive” missile assault and that reported damage to Samara’s industrial sites was localized. The regional official also reported that medical help was provided to injured people.

Zelenskyy claimed Kyiv targeted the Progress Centre in Samara. Zelenskyy described the Progress Centre as a facility working with Russia’s space agency Roscosmos and involved in rocket-technology and electronics production.
