What happened in Karnataka’s SIR enumeration phase
Karnataka’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration phase ended on Monday. Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbu Kumar has not clarified whether the Election Commission of India’s Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC)—listed by the Election Commission of India as an indicative document—will be accepted in Karnataka for electoral roll verification.
The reported concern is voter-facing. Voters may be flagged for logical discrepancies, and more than 28 lakh “unmapped” voters are expected to require documentary proof after the draft electoral roll release.
