What happened in Rajya Sabha (adjournment amid protests)

Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day shortly after meeting due to Opposition sloganeering and protests in the House. Opposition members protested over alleged Ram Temple donation theft and demanded a statement by the Home Minister on police action against protesters on 20 July.

Opposition members also raised slogans about alleged paper leaks and reiterated demands that Home Minister Amit Shah come to the House. Opposition members demanded a statement on alleged use of force against students, including pellet guns, and demanded Amit Shah’s resignation while protests continued.

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticized the Opposition during continuing protests and accused Opposition members of “playing with the dignity of the House.”
