Lok Sabha: Question Hour blocked and Bankers’ Books Evidence Bill passed by voice vote
In the Lok Sabha, Opposition MPs staged demonstrations in the Well. The Speaker adjourned the House after Opposition members refused to let Question Hour proceed. After reconvening, the Bankers’ Books Evidence Bill was considered and passed by voice vote without debate. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju criticised the Opposition for disrupting proceedings despite time being allowed for discussion.
Rajya Sabha: disorder-led adjournments and Zero Hour participation
In the Rajya Sabha, disorder led to two adjournments during the first half of the day. Members managed to speak during Zero Hour. The Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan urged adherence to rules of conduct, but appeals were ignored. The Upper House was adjourned after 26 minutes until noon.
