States and Union territories reported readiness to operationalise the VB-G RAM G Act from 1 July at the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan. The update matters because rural employment legislation depends not only on parliamentary enactment but also on timely State-level budgeting, notification, and administrative rollout.

What happened now

At the recently concluded conference, all States’ Rural Development Ministers apprised the Union Ministry of Rural Development that the States were prepared to implement the Act from the prescribed date. The Ministry stated that 29 States and Union territories have made budgetary provisions and 24 States have already notified the VB G RAM G State Scheme.
