Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi reviewed the implementation of flagship Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises schemes in Ladakh during a high-level meeting at the DC Conference Hall, Leh on 29–30 June 2026. The review matters because MSME policy is not only about formal schemes; it is also about whether enterprises in remote regions can actually access credit, subsidies, and markets.
The meeting brought together the Joint Secretary (A&T), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, officials from the Union Territory administration, the MSME-DFO, representatives from banks, entrepreneurs, MSME associations, and officials of the Industries & Commerce Department. A presentation on MSME scheme implementation in Ladakh opened the discussion, and the Director, Industries & Commerce, Union Territory of Ladakh, gave an overview of the local MSME ecosystem and progress under different schemes.
