What happened
The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) held the fourth edition of the National Conference on Responsible Business Conduct (NCRBC) 2026 in New Delhi. The conference theme was "ESG-led Transformation for Viksit Bharat". The School of Business Environment of IICA organised the two-day conference under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The conference placed responsible business conduct, environmental, social and governance (ESG) integration, and sustainability reporting at the centre of India’s corporate-governance discussion.
Why the conference matters
The conference is relevant because India’s corporate disclosure system is moving from broad sustainability statements toward more auditable and decision-useful reporting. The discussion connected ESG with board responsibility, value-chain accountability, and the risk of greenwashing.
