PM-USHA (third phase of RUSA) outlay and extension for higher education access, equity and excellence
Government announced the outlay and extension of the PM-USHA scheme (third phase of RUSA) for higher education access, equity, and excellence.

What happened
The Ministry of Education announced support under Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA), described as the third phase of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). PM-USHA was launched in June 2023 with an outlay of Rs. 12,926.10 crore for 2023-24 to 2025-26, including committed liabilities of the earlier phases of RUSA.
The Ministry of Education also extended completion timelines for PM-USHA and for ongoing RUSA projects:
