MHI announced Industry 4.0 capacity-building under the Scheme on Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector–Phase II through 4 SAMARTH Centres, 10 cluster Experience Centres, and two technology projects.
What happened (Industry 4.0 capacity-building under MHI’s Phase-II capital goods scheme)
The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) announced the Scheme on Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector–Phase II, with an objective to encourage technology development and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities. Under the Industry 4.0 component for common facility support, MHI announced capability centres and also approved digital manufacturing technology projects.
SAMARTH Centres and cluster Industry 4.0 Experience Centres
MHI set up 4 Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hub (SAMARTH) Centres to promote Industry 4.0 under the component called “Common Engineering Facility Centres” (common facility centres for engineering and manufacturing capability). MHI also sanctioned 10 cluster Industry 4.0 Experience Centres nationwide through the Centre for Industry 4.0 (C4i4), Pune.
