What happened: Bihar’s Farmer ID progress
A Union Minister publicly praised Bihar for creating Farmer IDs (digital farmer identity records). The Minister reported that 53,83,000 farmer identity cards had already been created in Bihar.

The Union Minister further stated that digital farmer identification can streamline the process from farmer registration to delivery of benefits, and expressed confidence that registration for the remaining farmers would be completed soon.
