What happened: PMAY pucca houses approved for Bihar in Patna
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, announced a set of initiatives for Bihar under the state-level Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) programme in Patna on 21 August 2026.
The programme was attended by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and senior ministers of the Bihar government. Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced PMAY approval and funding figures for Bihar for poor families.
11,18,937 pucca houses approved for poor families in Bihar under PMAY.₹13,427 crore allocation announced for these approved houses.
The minister stated that PMAY aims to provide dignity, security, and a better quality of life to poor families.
