What happened (1 September 2026 review by Ministry of Defence)
Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh reviewed the annual performance of 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in New Delhi on 1 September 2026. Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth also attended, and Secretary (Defence Production) Shri Sanjeev Kumar, along with the Chairmen & Managing Directors (CMDs) of the DPSUs, briefed the Ministers on performance, key achievements, and a future roadmap.
What the Ministry highlighted in DPSU work
The Ministry’s emphasis covered five areas: enhancing indigenous production and manufacturing capabilities; developing advanced defence technologies; increasing defence exports; strengthening supply chains; and executing major defence projects.
Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh commended the contribution of all 16 DPSUs to India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem and to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, while building a defence industrial base ecosystem. The review included recognition that all 16 DPSUs are contributing across multiple sectors.
