National Highways Authority of India has announced an initiative to empanel Indian Institutes of Technology and other reputed technical institutions for independent proof checking of hydraulic studies and major bridge designs in new National Highway projects. The National Highways Authority of India said the new framework will provide independent technical review before construction of major bridge structures. The review will cover structural design calculations, engineering drawings, construction methodologies, geotechnical investigations, and hydraulic studies.
