The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the construction of the 117.7 km Kanpur-Kabrai Access-Controlled Greenfield Highway. This four-lane highway is designed for future six-laning and is part of the Bhopal-Kanpur Economic Corridor.

The project, costing Rs.7145.14 crore, will be implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) using the BOT (Toll) model. It aims to provide high-speed connectivity between Kanpur and Kabrai, reducing travel time from 3.5 hours to 1.5 hours.
