India unveiled its first export-import (EXIM) shipping container, manufactured in India for A.P. Moller-Maersk, at the Maersk-CONCOR Inland Container Depot in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh.

This milestone aligns with the Modi government's vision under Atmanirbhar Bharat and aims to establish a strong domestic container manufacturing ecosystem.

Maersk highlighted its confidence in India's manufacturing capabilities by ordering an additional 1,000 containers on the occasion.

The container adheres to international standards, ensuring it is suitable for global shipping.

The government has initiated the ₹10,000 crore Container Manufacturing Promotion Scheme (CMPS) to boost domestic manufacturing and reduce dependency on imports.
