Two-Day Regional Workshop to Develop Strategy and Roadmap for 6 Crore Lakhpati Didis
Ministry of Rural Development and Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society held a regional workshop in Gaya Ji to build a strategy for expanding the Lakhpati Didi initiative and achieve the announced target of 6 crore rural women with annual incomes of at least ₹1 lakh.

The Ministry of Rural Development and the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society held a two-day regional workshop in Gaya Ji on the strategy for making 6 crore Lakhpati Didis. The workshop is important for UPSC because it links a women’s livelihood mission with mission design, digital monitoring, and inter-state implementation under DAY-NRLM.
The workshop ended with a strategy, roadmap, and Annual Action Plan for FY 2026–27. The stated aim is to expand the number of rural women with annual incomes of at least ₹1 lakh through farm and non-farm livelihoods, market linkages, convergence, and digital management information systems (MIS).
What happened
UPSC may connect the regional workshop to DAY-NRLM, women’s economic empowerment, self-help group-based livelihoods, digital management information systems, convergence across departments, and implementation challenges in scaling income enhancement for rural women.
