Indian Railways Approves Doubling of Tadali–Ghugus Railway Section in Maharashtra at a Cost of ₹228 Crore

The Tadali–Ghugus section is currently a single-line section on the Wardha–Balharshah section. Indian Railways has sanctioned doubling under umbrella works for doubling, tripling, quadrupling, flyover and bypass works, which are used to expand line capacity and ease operational constraints.
UPSC may frame the Tadali–Ghugus doubling project as part of India’s effort to expand railway capacity, reduce congestion on high-density corridors, and improve freight efficiency. The issue links infrastructure investment with logistics competitiveness, regional industrial support, and network planning.
