What happened: Indian Railways approves Adra–Joychandipahar bypass line
Indian Railways approved the construction of an 11 km bypass line between the Adra end and Joychandipahar in South Eastern Railway. The project cost is ₹272 crore.
The bypass is designed to provide dedicated path segregation and a bi-directional connection to the upcoming third line. Indian Railways projected that the bypass will facilitate movement of 6.065 freight rakes per day, supporting anticipated growth in industrial traffic.
