What happened
The Technology Development Board (TDB) under the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, congratulated Skyroot Aerospace Private Limited after the successful Vikram-1 mission. The release treats the mission as a major milestone for India’s private space sector and for indigenous launch vehicle development.

According to the release, Skyroot Aerospace had already been recognised for work on cryogenic, liquid and solid propulsion technologies for the small satellite launch market. The company has also submitted a proposal to the TDB under the Research, Development and Innovation Fund, and the proposal is under consideration.
