The Directorate General of Training under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has said that it supports upgradation of Industrial Training Institutes through the Skill Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE) Scheme and the Upgradation of Existing Government ITIs into Model ITIs scheme. The same reply also states that new-age vocational courses have been introduced under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) to keep Industrial Training Institute training closer to industry requirements.
