What happened
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has released the 33rd edition of Energy Statistics India 2026. The publication updates India’s energy database and is meant for policy and infrastructure planning by line-energy ministries and States and Union Territories.
What changed in the 2026 edition
The latest edition adds new statistical coverage and improves comparability across energy sectors. It includes data on credit flow to the energy sector, international energy scenarios, and international marine and aviation bunker fuel use.
The publication also aligns the end-use consuming sectors of energy commodities with international standards and addresses data gaps in industry-wise consumption of coal and electricity.
