The Ministry of Women and Child Development has developed a unified Mission Vatsalya Portal by integrating child-protection systems used for missing, found, and vulnerable children. The change matters because child tracing depends on quick data sharing between welfare institutions and police, not on isolated databases.
What existed earlier
Before the integration, the Ministry of Women and Child Development used separate digital tools such as TrackChild for missing and found children and Khoya-Paya for missing and sighted children. The GHAR portal for going-home and reunion support also operated as a separate module.
The Ministry said the Mission Vatsalya Scheme is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented by States and Union Territories for Children in Need of Care and Protection and Children in Conflict with Law. The scheme covers care, protection, rehabilitation, and reintegration of children in difficult circumstances, including missing and vulnerable children.
What changed now
The Ministry has integrated TrackChild, Khoya-Paya, and GHAR into a single Mission Vatsalya Portal in consultation with States and Union Territories. The portal is also linked with the Crime and Criminal Tracking & Network Systems (CCTNS) of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
