What happened

The Ministry of Cooperation has placed the National Cooperation Policy, 2025 on a more formal implementation footing by creating a Policy Implementation and Monitoring Committee and by expanding the use of a National Cooperative Database. The Ministry of Cooperation has presented both measures as tools for coordination, monitoring, and planning in the cooperative sector.

The Ministry of Cooperation said the policy is being implemented through a Whole-of-Government approach and in the spirit of cooperative federalism.

The National Cooperation Policy, 2025 provides a 10-year roadmap for systematic and holistic development of the cooperative sector. The policy has 6 strategic pillars, 16 objectives, and 83 recommendations.
