What happened: PM Modi’s virtual interaction with MYBharat Volunteers (Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted virtually with participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026. MYBharat Volunteers shared experiences from border villages in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Ladakh, focusing on village transformation through improved infrastructure, connectivity and public services. The interaction also highlighted women-led development, tourism, community participation and stronger national integration.
According to the government communication, more than 5,000 MYBharat Volunteers from 245 districts joined the virtual programme. Multiple volunteers described selection via a nationwide quiz and subsequent visits to border villages. A volunteer from Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu outlined MYBharat initiatives such as the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament and a mentorship-and-volunteering set of programmes.
UPSC can treat MYBharat and the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 as a governance-and-society lens: how youth participation and peer learning can shape perceptions of public services in rural border areas, and how women-led local leadership shows up in service delivery at the village level.
