What happened: Bihar PMAY approvals and allocation announced in Patna
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced at the state-level Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana programme in Patna the approval of 11,18,937 pucca houses for poor families in Bihar. The announcement also included an allocation of ₹13,427 crore. The programme was attended by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and senior ministers.
The Union Minister stated that the sanction letter was handed over to the Bihar Chief Minister and framed the goal as dignity, security, and a better quality of life, not only house construction. The Union Minister also emphasised transparency in fund transfer to beneficiaries and credited improved Centre–state coordination for faster implementation.
