What happened: MoRD released beneficiary and fund-release details for RSETIs

The Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) provided district-wise details of beneficiaries trained under Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs), including the number of candidates who completed training, district-wise counts of training programmes conducted, and the number of candidates settled/self-employed. MoRD also provided state-wise details of funds released to States/Union Territories under RSETI for a five-year period covering FY 2021-22 to 2026-27.

MoRD stated that Annexure-I-A contains state-wise fund-release details for the last five years (till 24 July 2026) measured in ₹ in lakhs. Annexure-I-B contains district-wise fund-release details for Andhra Pradesh for the last five years (till 24 July 2026), including releases for years 2021-22 through 2026-27, with notes on reimbursement claims and operational RSETIs. MoRD reported that the information was given by the Minister of State for Rural Development, Shri Kamlesh Paswan, in a written reply in Lok Sabha.

RSETI framework: what RSETIs do and how programmes are chosen

RSETIs operate as demand-driven skill and entrepreneurship training institutions within the rural self-employment ecosystem. MoRD described three kinds of training programmes delivered through RSETIs:

RSETIs conduct demand-driven Skill Development Programmes (SDPs) to build employable skills. RSETIs also conduct Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) to support enterprise creation and growth. In addition, RSETIs conduct Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) to generate interest and readiness for entrepreneurship among rural unemployed youth.
