What happened: TRIFED’s PMJVM and VDVK actions supporting tribal incomes in Tripura

TRIFED, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, implements the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM) to generate livelihood opportunities for tribal communities through production support, value addition, and market linkage. In Tripura, TRIFED’s PMJVM approach includes retail marketing, MSP for Minor Forest Produce (MFP), infrastructure support, Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK) activities, and Research and Development (R&D).

TRIFED states that it supports livelihood generation by identifying and empanelling tribal artisans and suppliers and marketing tribal products such as handicraft, handloom, and natural and food products through a retail network of Tribes India outlets, exhibitions, and e-Commerce channels.
