The Ministry of Cooperation launched the “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” initiative to promote inclusive, technology-enabled cooperative development in Himachal Pradesh. The initiative aims to strengthen the cooperative sector’s contribution to economic growth, rural development, and livelihood generation by expanding cooperative coverage, improving governance, and making cooperative societies financially viable.
The initiative lists a set of action areas such as member income growth through value addition and market access, increased participation of women and socially weaker sections, and technology-enabled transparency in cooperative governance. The Ministry also states that it is implementing more than 150 initiatives under Ministry of Cooperation schemes, with special provisions for hilly, tribal, and remote areas like Himachal Pradesh.
