What happened: Ministry of AYUSH launched quality, research and global acceptance initiatives
The Ministry of AYUSH launched initiatives to promote the production, quality, research, marketing and global acceptance of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) medicines. The initiatives link four areas: higher manufacturing standards, evidence-based research, pharmacopoeial standards for quality, and export promotion for international recognition.
Major initiatives announced by Ministry of AYUSH
Ministry of AYUSH named the following major initiatives:
• Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta Evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY): Supports quality assurance, standardisation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), testing infrastructure, pharmacopoeial standards and capacity building of the AYUSH drug sector.
• AYURGYAN Scheme: Promotes evidence-based research, innovation, clinical studies and higher education in AYUSH systems.
