Government strategy to promote Ayush-based medical and wellness tourism (Ayush Visa, Quality Mark, STGs, international cooperation)
India is using visas, quality standards, academic links, and international cooperation to position Ayush as a medical-value-travel and wellness-tourism offering.
- The Ministry of Tourism prepared a National Strategy and Roadmap for Medical and Wellness Tourism in consultation with the Ministry of Ayush.
- The Ministry of Ayush is implementing the Central Sector Scheme for Promotion of International Cooperation for AYUSH to support exports, academic exchange, stakeholder interaction, and overseas awareness.
- The Ministry of Ayush signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the India Tourism Development Corporation to promote Medical Value Travel in Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine.
- The Ministry of Ayush held bilateral meetings with participating countries during the summit in New Delhi from 17 to 19 December 2025 to strengthen collaboration, regulatory alignment, and international cooperation.
